“Since a seizure in childhood, Jacob, age 16, has struggled with cognition and aggression. Last summer, he started to become more aggressive, which was complicated by his weight problems. When he didn’t get the food he wanted, he had explosive outbursts. After an explosive incident last fall, Jacob was admitted to Cumberland Hospital for Children and Adolescents in November 2018 for a brain injury with explosive behavior and morbid obesity. Since admission, he’s lost over 280 pounds and is far more expressive and communicative. His father has said, “His physical appearance is amazing and he is attending school every day. Overall I would give Cumberland an A+ for helping my son.”
